Favorite Recipes

Cooking for only one or two can be a challenge, so it helps to have some Favorite Recipes. Because I don’t really cook much, I like to have things that I can make up ahead of time. It also helps to have things that you like well enough to eat for a week at a time! This is also a result of not usually being organized enough to prepare multiple things and freeze them.

With the rising cost of eating out, I am starting to cook at home a little more. So I will be sharing my favorite recipes here, and adding them as I find them. And now that I have retired, I will be searching for some new ones to add.

Chicken Casserole

This will be coming soon, and was another family favorite while growing up. And there are so many ways to add variety to this one.

Christmas Breakfast

favorite recipes for Christmas breakfast

One of the Christmas traditions we had growing up was that we had to eat breakfast before we could open the presents. My favorite part about it was the cinnamon toast. I recently re-created this breakfast, and this time I paired it with some of the Napa wines. Unfortunately, this was not an option when I was a kid! Check out this yummy tradition.

French Toast Breakfast Sandwich

This tasty Panini Style French Toast breakfast sandwich is so easy to make. Prepare them ahead of time, and have them ready to just warm up and go. These are great when you need a quick breakfast and have no time for the drive thru lane! Try your own variations.

Homemade Protein Bars

favorite recipes have to include homemade protein bars

Many times, I don’t really prepare meals. So it helps to have some healthy items that are ready to eat. These are also VERY easy to make. You just measure, mix, and freeze. Then cut them into bars to have whenever. You can find them here.

Snowmint Cake – One of the Family Favorite Recipes

one of mom's favorite recipes

Okay. This one is not in the “easy to make” category. However, it was one of my mother’s “go to” recipes for special occasions over the years. If you got a Snowmint cake made for your birthday, then you knew it was special. This starts with just a plain yellow cake mix. But it is the assembly and frostings that make it so special! Try it out for yourself.

I will continue to add recipes to this page as I find them. And some will also come with a recommended wine or wines to pair with them. You can find out more about our Wine Discovery Club where you can have Fine Wines delivered directly to your door.
