Depending on where you live, you may be able to BBQ all year round. But, a BBQ in the summer time is an EVENT! So then I got to thinking, and was wondering if there is a difference between a cookout and a barbeque. Hmm.
BBQ vs Cookout
For reference, I live in the Great Lakes area. So I think of a Barbecue as cooking outside on the grill and using BBQ sauce. That would make a cookout pretty much the same, but without the BBQ sauce. So, after a little bit of pondering, I decided to ask my friend Google. And wouldn’t you know it, there IS a difference, depending on where you live.
In most places, people tend to think that any outdoor cooking is a barbecue. Unless you live in the South, or in Texas. In those places, a cookout (or grilling) is when you are cooking over an open flame. As in, fire up the grill! And a barbecue is cooking low and slow over direct heat. In addition, some people are so specific that a barbecue should only include pork. Seriously! What about chicken?
So, I just thought that was interesting. But for the purposes of this article, we will use either word, because this article is about the sauce!
So we found this BBQ Sauce….
Have you heard the phrase “awesome sauce”? It is used in many different ways, and is a positive phrase describing something that you are excited about. However, this BBQ sauce that we found really does qualify as some Awesome Sauce! They have both a regular and a hot and spicy barbeque sauce, along with a smoky sweet seasoning that you can use as a rub to season the meat. Additionally, you can season just about anything else, including your veggies!
So, if you are just starting to barbecue, you may want some recipes to start out with. And wouldn’t you know it, you can also get a free Digital Cookbook with your order!!! How cool is that?
What’s Lipstick got to do with it?
I know. It’s a strange question. Do you remember things that you can eat with your fingers? Especially those with sauce on them. You know the ones that are REALLY messy, but taste SOOOOO good! Well, you probably did not realize it at the time. But you were most likely wearing the sauce like LIPSTICK! This BBQ sauce is THAT KIND OF GOOD! So good, that you will be wearing it like lipstick. And that is exactly where the name Redneck Lipstick comes from!
Be sure to take your Lipstick to your next Barbecue!
