Let me be honest. Fashion is not really my passion. I prefer to dress for both Comfort and Function, and Fashion is optional. But whatever I wear has GOT to have pockets!! So Functional Fashion with a POCKET is totally a bonus!
For me, it is all about the pockets. Ever since I was in pre-school, pockets have been important. Back when I started in school, the girls were not allowed to wear pants, much less jeans with holes in them! We couldn’t wear pants until I was in junior high, and that was only in the winter. But back in pre-school, I could wear pants one day a week. And… I even remember the pants. They were a plaid corduroy, BUT…..there was a pocket on the back! This meant I could carry my comb in there. And then because I had pants on, I could hang upside down on the monkey bars!!!! And….the comb would fall out of my pocket. Still, that was always the best day of the week!
Gotta have pockets….
When I was in second grade, my mom made me a jumper. It was blue. Kind of a royal blue. AND….it had SIX pockets down the front! Top to bottom and small to large, with three on each side. Even though it was kind of a dress, I LOVED the pockets! So, fast forward a lot of years, and pretty much everything I wear has a pocket somewhere. If there is no pocket….well….you get the idea.
Not only are pockets necessary, but they also have to be large enough to be useful. One of the problems I have with women’s clothing, is that the pockets are so small it is hard to even get one of today’s cell phones in them! And forget about even a small wallet or your keys. So I really have to look around for women’s pants with the RIGHT kind of pockets. Slowly the clothing designers have started to add, or increase the size of the pockets. Fashion be darned, it is all about the pocket!
Hello Fashion, Let’s Add Some Function!
Along comes this woman whose name is Angela, who is a country girl from Nebraska that loves to go on adventures. However she has a problem with hauling her purse around with her while she is on the go. So she starts looking for a hands-free alternative to her purse, but her requirement is that it has to be stylish! When she is unsuccessful in her search for something stylish, she is just resourceful enough to just make one herself. She has no sewing background and no connections in the industry. Does that stop her? Of course not! So with a $20 sewing machine, and her mother laughing at her sewing ability (or lack of), she is able to create her first prototype. AND she gets a patent on it!

Introducing: Functional Fashion!
The first item she decides to make is a Convertible Infinity Scarf with Pocket™. This is an infinity scarf with a large enough zipper pocket to hold a phone, keys, passport, a wallet, and maybe even some lip gloss or chap stick. Finally, these days every product line needs to have at least one pandemic item! There is also a Convertible Face Mask. For the mask, the straps can be worn either behind the head or around the ears, whichever suits your comfort level.
I actually think this is something I would use because it has a pocket. Finally, some Fashion in my life!
