Welcome to BLT Designs. This is the area where I express some of my creative side through handcrafted designs that carry meaning. It is probably genetic, since my mother was an artist and insisted on living in an A-frame house. For the record, that really was cool.
Creating things has always been part of how I process ideas and experiences. Some of that likely comes from my upbringing. Creativity was simply part of daily life in our home. My mother’s choice to live in an A-frame house felt unconventional at the time and a little impractical, since A-frames were typically summer cottages. Looking back, it was also imaginative, expressive, and very much her.
In fact, one of the first creative things I ever built was a coffee table for my mother, using the same diamond pattern that appeared throughout that house.
Over time, that early exposure to creativity blended with my own tendency to think things through, solve problems, and work with my hands. I enjoy the process of figuring out how something should look, feel, and function before it ever becomes a finished piece. I am less interested in producing quickly and more interested in making choices that feel right and hold up over time.
Now, let me introduce you to BLT Designs, which grew out of that mindset. It is a place where creativity, intention, and careful making come together, not to follow trends or fill space, but to create objects that carry meaning and feel thoughtfully made.

BLT Designs is the design and creation entity within Bebops Lifestyle Treasures™ where ideas, values, and moments are intentionally shaped into physical form. The focus is on thoughtful design and careful craft, resulting in well-made objects that feel meaningful and considered.
BLT Designs is not a product catalog or a mass-production operation. It exists as the place where design decisions are made, materials are chosen with purpose, and meaning is translated into physical form. Each piece begins with intention and is shaped with care, not speed or scale.
Designing With Intention
Designing with intention means starting with a reason, not a product. Every BLT Designs piece I design begins as an idea, a value, or a moment that matters to someone. The goal is never to decorate for decoration’s sake, but to create something that carries meaning and feels considered.
My own life experiences shape how I approach this work. I have learned the value of slowing down, thinking things through, and making choices that hold up over time. That perspective shows up in the way my designs are developed, materials are selected, and details are refined. Care and clarity matter more than speed or volume. In this piece, even the smallest details matter, including something as simple as the position of the hole for the ornament.
This approach also means accepting limits. BLT Designs is not focused on trends, rapid production, or scaling output. Each piece is designed to be well made, thoughtfully finished, and true to its purpose. If a design cannot be created with intention and care, it does not belong here.

I guide BLT Designs through clear choices rather than optimization. I do not make decisions based on trends, speed, or volume, but on whether a piece can be created with care and purpose.
I develop the designs to be meaningful first. I choose materials based on how well they support the message and the finished piece, not for convenience or cost alone. I work through the details carefully. Many times it is those small decisions that determine whether something feels thoughtful or rushed.
Using this approach means accepting that there are tradeoffs. Some designs take longer. Some ideas are not used. And not every concept becomes a finished piece. I set those limits intentionally to protect the integrity of the work and ensure that what is made reflects the values behind it.
From Idea to Finished Piece
Every BLT Designs piece begins with an idea rather than a template. That idea may come from a value, a belief, a memory, or a moment that feels worth marking in a tangible way. From there, I shape the design thoughtfully, paying attention to proportion, material, and message. In this case, the idea came from something simple. I was in a car and noticed a one-way sign.
Once the design is established, I carry that same intentional approach into the making process. I select materials carefully, refine layouts, and work through each step with care rather than speed. The goal is not uniform output, but a finished piece that feels considered and well made.
Working this way allows each design to remain true to its purpose. It also means pieces are created in small runs or individually, rather than through mass production. The result is work that reflects both the original idea and the care taken to bring it into physical form.

Finished BLT Designs pieces are made available through my Etsy shop, BLTDesignsCreations. This allows each item to be presented clearly and purchased directly, while keeping this site focused on the ideas and design work behind the pieces rather than on the transactions.
The Etsy shop serves as the storefront for completed designs. Availability may change as new pieces are created and others are retired, reflecting the small scale and intentional nature of the work. Items are offered when they are ready, not produced to meet volume or trend demands.
